The MDE, through the Office of Early Childhood a is offering a free full- training titled Early Learning Guidelines and Standards. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge needed to effectively implement developmentally appropriate practices in the early childhood classroom. The training will go through the Mississippi Early Learning Guidelines and will offer the participants an overview of how the Mississippi Early Learning Standards can be implemented by offering hands-on activities in a developmentally appropriate Pre-K classroom. This training is offered to directors, administrators or teachers of a Pre-K classroom. SEMIs and contact hours are offered at no cost and CEUs will be available for purchase (checks or credit/debit cards only).Â

The MIOP is suggested guidance that provides key indicators and
evidence of success that administrators should look for when
observing the teaching and learning of the Mississippi College- and
Career-Readiness Standards in Mathematics for grades 3-12.
In this session participants will:
1. Know the purpose, development, and design of the Mathematics Instructional Observation Protocol (MIOP).
2. Decipher a clear distinction between a learning walk and a walk-through.
3. Engage in each of the MIOP’s Core Actions for effective mathematics instruction.
Additional Information: Participants will need a laptop or tablet to access
materials. CEUs and SEMIs available.
This session is for LEA School Administrators, Math Content Leads, Math Coaches,
Administrator and Educator Preparation Instructors, Administrator
and Educator Program Candidates, and other instructional
leaders.
