MDE, through the Office of Early Childhood, is offering a one-hour training entitled Kindergarten Readiness Data Detectives. This virtual training is geared toward teachers of early childhood classrooms who are required to administer the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment. Training topics will include a brief overview of the assessment, interpreting data reports, and next steps for success.
This training will be presented virtually through Microsoft Teams. These trainings are available to all early learning public, private, and Head Start administrators, principals, district leaders, directors, teachers and assistant teachers of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms. Participants will receive one contact hour.

This full-day in-person training, Getting Back to the Basics of Early Childhood, will allow participants to gain an overview of the importance of early childhood education and the research behind the known advantages of looping literacy opportunities into every learning center in the classroom, understanding the foundation of math and how it connects to learning standards and learning centers, and learning how to take abstract "worksheet" concepts and transform them into more developmentally appropriate hands-on activities when working with young children.

This full-day training will consist of an overview of the CLASS assessment tool, learning about the dimensions of CLASS, and best practices for favorable assessment outcomes. This session is available to all early childhood administrators, principals, district leaders, directors, and teachers of Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms. This full-day in-person training, D.A.P.’s of the Visual Learning Environment, will allow participants to gain an overview of developmentally appropriate practices when selecting display materials to extend learning in the classroom. D represents using a dynamic display to extend learning in the Pre-K and K classrooms, A represents appropriate artwork and understanding the difference between product art vs. process art, and P represents promoting and providing print-rich opportunities and how to integrate literacy-rich activities into all Pre-K and K learning centers.
