The MDE, through the Office of Early Childhood, is offering an Online Early Childhood Self-Paced Training Course for Assistant Teachers from February 24, 2025, through April 4, 2025. This online self-paced training will provide assistant teachers who work in Pre-K classrooms with a plethora of knowledge around early learning best practices.

The MDE, through the Office of Early Childhood, is offering an Online Early Childhood Self-Paced Training Course for the Novice Administrator (1-3 years) from February 24, 2025, through April 4, 2025. This online self-paced training will provide novice administrators who oversee Pre-K classrooms with a plethora of knowledge around early learning best practices.
This online self-paced course is being offered to: • Novice Administrators with one (1) to three (3) years of early childhood experience – The completion of this online training program includes completion of all modules, assessments, and a course survey. The course, Everyday Practices for Preventing Problematic Behaviors in Pre-K, is designed to support teachers and assistants in understanding how to proactively prevent behavior issues by building a strong foundation of a loving relationship and by creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

This in-person training will be beneficial to programs that have been implementing the Mississippi Beginning Pre-K curriculum for at least one year. Participants will take a more in depth look at the fidelity tool and learn how to use this tool as a pathway to ensure alignment in all other curricula used to teach pre-kindergarten. The fidelity tool allows the administrator or representative of the Pre-K program to monitor early childhood best practices in the pre-kindergarten classrooms. This training will be Part 1 of a series focused on the fidelity tool that includes read alouds, learning centers, and small group.

In an effort to support implementing quality early childhood classrooms, the Office of Early Childhood Education is offering a support system for coaches and teachers in any early learning settings (Head Start, childcare, and school districts). If you are hiring or have an early learning coach or teacher in your early childhood setting and would like support in a coaching community, take advantage of this opportunity! Participants who complete the training can earn 6 contact hours.
